Watch Out For These 2 Years ago Karma: 20
For the people that are new to the dunes here's some pictures of hard to see hazards. These include old fence posts with barbed wire, old t-posts bent over in the sand or just barely sticking out of the sand, and some large cable loops.

As the dunes move to the north,fence lines are partly covered with sand and the barbed wire is still attached to the posts in the sand.

In several places in the dunes you might see what you think is a root or vine laying on the ground but here it's a huge 2 inch diameter steel cable big enough to pull a battleship. Also the ends of these rusty pipes look like they could do you harm. Just a heads up for newbies. Here you can see it easily but another place it's a loop laying just out of the sand.

This strand of barbed wire wrapped around the bush is at the exit from the north entrance. Heads up to all newbies. You hit this and it's going to leave a mark.

There is another one near the north entrance in the middle of the dunes. It used to be marked with something but its a definite tire trasher. They need to take these out altogether.

They ought to remove the fenceline that is buried and expand the dunes. Bigger is better! Ride on!

Yes 250Ripper they tried painting it orange but still looks harmless till you get up close. I will get photo of it next time I go to the dunes. Update: Here it is. This would do some serious harm to you and your ride. You could snare an elephant with this. It is anchored down so it's not going anywhere if you run into it.
