TOPIC: Banshee shift fork replacement
#2051
Banshee shift fork replacement 1 Year, 6 Months ago
My Banshee sticks in high gear when hot and ridden hard. I want to replace the forks and maybe the drum. My question is, can I just pull the bottom case off to get to it without pulling the head, jugs, pistons, etc. and top case off like my Clymers says?

Yes you can. What do you mean by stuck in high gear?

It will stay jammed in 5th or 6th after drag racing or the like. Eventually (I assume after it cools) i can work it until it shifts normal again.

Then your gears are not the problem your shift shaft gets hung up on the shift drum pins behind the clutch basket.

If you install a couple of washers between your shifter and the stator cover this will keep the shift shaft from moving over and slipping past the shift drum pins and hanging up.
